We could see — and conversations with our patients, other local residents, and various professionals in fields involving or connected to cancer care, proved — that we could help the community by offering and promoting

• Public education, including such broadly appealing and accessible events as the annual North Coast Breast Cancer Conference
• Support groups
• Promotion of research
• Radiation therapy initiative
• Healing gardens
• Professional education
• Financial support for uninsured and underinsured cancer patients
